Valentine's Day 2009: practice loving-kindness -- for yourself

Love After Love

The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was yourself.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror,
Sit. Feast on your life.

dear linda, I have this poem on my blog, it is so lovely and meaning-full!

Namaste to you this day, may your life be blessed with joy.

linda, I am infected with trolls recently and I see you have this little note above...I wondered if it works? if comment moderation makes a difference or if simply ignoring it all is best....it's making me want to stop blogging!!!

you can always change your blog to "invited readers" only, as I did on my other blog. but no, it does not stop trolls or people who do not have the guts to leave their names or create a profile. that's another thing, a "registered user" -- someone with a profile but no blog -- can still post comments. I DO modify my comments and choose who to publish. my house, my rules.

good luck, sis!

that being said, not all ANONYMOUS commenters are trolls! some readers just don't want to leave their personal info.

Beautful poem...

You Blogger folks should come over to WordPress, which has Akismet built in (free). Spam rarely makes it to my blog coz Akismet picks it up first and dumps it in the spam folder.

Trolls you can't stop, but the more attention you pay them, the harder they work. Attention is what they want after all...

Thank You Linda Sama. I haven't read this poem in a while. It's so beautiful and a joy to reconnect with it and my self.

Dear Linda,

First I want to thank you for a great blog. It is truly an inspiration.
I hope you are rid of your trolls. They are a pain.
I am wondering if you could recommend two books as I stand here in the beginning of my yoga journey. I would have liked to email you but couldn't find any email address on your blog (which is understandable considering your troll visits).

all the best
S
